When I decided to build a website it was rather reluctantly. I love meeting people in person and as a connector, online never felt like the way I wanted to grow my business.
However Covid had a way of forcing me to realize I needed to create an online presence. Just as we went into shut down mode, I was invited to a webinar that Quinn Curtis, founder of Sequoia Soul, was hosting. After the webinar I instantly knew I wanted to work with her. Her presence, her warmth, and her creative eye were all very apparent to me.
After researching where to begin I made the decision that Branding was an important part of my process. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Quinn during this process. I went from being all over the place to honing in my style, my flavor, my presence through my brand. Talk about a creative process that teaches you a lot about who you are! Or was it working with Sequoia that made me feel this way?
As I was working on my Brand, I was doing a ton of research to decide who would build my website. I looked at different creative marketing companies as well as hosting sites. After great consideration I went with Sequoia because I was impressed by the creativity, the patience, and the communication which took place as they brought my brand to life.
Sequoia helped me realize that my website is a living, breathing entity. So much of who I am comes across each page. I realize that the opposite could have happened, which is a website with zero personality, style or feel. Throughout the process the Sequoia team made me feel heard and that my questions, concerns and ways of doing and seeing things were important. I never felt like all they wanted to do was finish the project and be done with it.
Websites can be beautiful but say nothing about who you are. But a website that is both beautiful and carries your message is invaluable. Remember in the beginning when I told you I love meeting people in person? Well letting people know who you are via a website seems like an impossible ask, however I feel like we did it!
Sequoia will continue to be my marketing agency for all my creative projects.
